Abstract: The present investigation was conduct in the Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj (U.P.) India during 2020 to assess the physical properties of soil in Mawkynrew Block, Meghalaya, India. Samples were taken from three profile depth i.e. 0-15 cm, 15-30 cm and 30 -45 cm from three different villages of three different farmers of Mawkynrew Block. All together twenty- seven samples were collected for the analysis of Physical properties of soil from Mawkynrew Block, Meghalaya. Result shows that the Texture varied from sandy clay loam to clay loam, soil colour shows dark brown to yellowish red in dry condition and from dark brown to dark greyish brown in wet condition. Bulk density increase with depth and ranged from 0.86 to 1.15 Mg m-3, particle density ranged from 2.0 to 2.85 Mg m-3, specific gravity ranged from 1.48 to 2.38. Particle density and specific gravity remain unchanged with most of the soil. Water holding capacity ranged from 34.09 to 66.66% and pore space percentage from 44.19 to 62.98%. Significant and non-significant difference of soil physical properties was observing both due to village and due to depth.
