Farmer articulated strategies for improving dairy farm profitability

Abstract: The study entitled
“A study on constraints faced by the dairy farmers in adoption of recommended dairy practices in proximity of Raipur city of Chhattisgarh
” was conducted in Raipur city of Chhattisgarh during the year 2024- 25. Analysis of dairy farmers' suggestions revealed key priorities for income enhancement. The most emphasized need was improved veterinary services (77.50%), followed by affordable feed provision (71.66%). Farmers also highlighted the importance of accessible vaccines/medicines (43.33%), training in fodder cultivation (40.83%), and doorstep AI services (45.00%). Financial support through cheaper credit (64.16%) and fair milk pricing (26.66%), alongside government support for value addition (30.83%) and technology training (21.66%), were also identified as crucial for the dairy sector's overall income improvement. These findings underscore the multi-faceted needs of dairy farmers, highlighting the interconnectedness of animal health, input costs, knowledge enhancement, financial support, and market dynamics in achieving sustainable income growth in the dairy farming sector.
