Abstract: The current experiment was carried out to evaluate the influence of botanicals on seed infestation by Callosobruchus chinensis in Vigna radiata L. at Department of SS&T, CoA, Dharwad during 2021-22. The research was carried out under CRD with 3 replications, comprising of nine treatments viz., neem oil, castor oil, palm oil, eucalyptus oil, karanja oil @ 10 ml/kg and sweet flag rhizome powder, neem leaf powder, seed powder of custard apple @ 10 g/kg and spinosad 45 SC @ 2ppm. The results reported that, at the end of nine months of storage period, seeds treated with Spinosad 45 SC recorded higher adult mortality (82.0%) with least fecundity (18.3%), seed damage (4.67%), weight loss (2.11%) and higher germination (80.3%) compared to other treatments. Among the botanicals used in this study, sweet flag rhizome powder recorded higher adult mortality (71.0%) with least fecundity (27.33%), seed damage (8.0%), weight loss (3.62%) and higher germination (77.33%). Whereas untreated control recorded 34.0, 85.33, 30.67, 13.87 and60per cent respectively.
